About

On October 1st, 2013, the Periodic Table of Synthpop was released as a Facebook page, with the main goal to increase visibility of the music genres I like: synthpop and related ones (futurepop, new wave, and electro, among others).

Grouping my favorite bands on the chemical elements table is just an excuse to make synthpop more visible in our lives, publicizing to the 118 bands that I like the most. Fortunately, it was a success since the very first day due to the visual attractiveness of the table itself. I found a way to join music and science, two of my passions.

Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Periodic Table of Synthpop posts on a daily basis. The daily posts may be pictures, memes, videos, interesting links, synth news, synthfacts, or funny images – any kind of stuff related to synthpop, new wave, post-punk, pop, and electronic music in general (and related genres) bands, synthesizers and gear, vinyl and cassette cultures, ’80s retro stuff and related art, among others.

In June 2017 the Periodic Table of Synthpop finally launched its own website. The most interesting page on this site is the table itself as a database of the 118 bands: main facts, a picture, biography, members, discography, related acts, useful links and a song/video to direct listening.

A few years later, the Periodic Table of Synthpop became one of the most important online communities of the synthpop genre, reaching 79.000 followers in 2024.

Also, in 2024, the PToS website was totally redesigned, adding several advantages: better navigation experience, better browsing on cellphones, search feature, several classification methods for the posts: tags, categories and dates.

Thank you all!
“I hope the music plays forever…”
